Music events in Galle

Live music in Galle is seasonal and mostly small. From around December to April the fort's courtyards, hotel terraces and cafés run acoustic sets, jazz evenings and DJ nights, with a crowd split between residents, the arts community and visitors; the beaches just outside town add bigger open-air parties over the festive stretch and the April holidays. Out of season it thins to occasional weekend gigs. Very little of it is ticketed through a platform — venues charge at the door or sell a limited number of places directly — and rooms inside the fort are small enough that popular nights genuinely fill.
