Conferences, talks and networking that move careers.
Sri Lanka's business calendar runs on two speeds. At one end are the big annual conferences and summits — tech, marketing, HR, entrepreneurship — usually held in Colombo's hotel ballrooms and convention halls, with a full day of talks and a badge on a lanyard. At the other are the smaller weekday meetups: startup pitch nights, developer gatherings and industry mixers hosted in co-working spaces and offices, often free and finished by nine.
Colombo dominates, but Kandy, Galle and the university towns get their share of forums and founder meetups too. Things go quiet around the April new year, then pick up steadily through the second half of the year. For paid conferences, register early through the organiser's official site — early-bird pricing is common and seats at popular summits genuinely run out. Meetups usually just need an RSVP.
