How it works

IslandLiveconnects people looking for something to do with the organisers putting on events across Sri Lanka. Whether you're buying a ticket or running an event, here's exactly how it works.

Buying tickets

  1. Find an event. Browse by category or city, search for an act or venue, or use 'events near you' to see what's closest. Every listing shows the confirmed date, venue and a map.
  2. Choose your tickets. Pick your ticket tier and quantity. For seated venues, choose your exact seats. The 10% service charge is shown before you pay — no surprises at the final step.
  3. Pay securely. Checkout runs through PayHere, Sri Lanka's leading payment gateway. Pay by card, or split the cost with KOKO 'Pay in 3' where available. Your card details never touch our servers.
  4. Get your tickets. As soon as payment is confirmed, your e-tickets are emailed to you and saved to your order page, where you can re-open the QR codes any time.
  5. Show your QR at the gate. At the event, show your ticket QR to be scanned. Each ticket checks in once, so keep it private until you arrive.

Listing an event

  1. Become an organiser. Create an account and complete the short organiser application. It's a one-time step so we can reach you about payouts and your events.
  2. Build your event. Add the title, a real description, date, time and venue, and upload a clear cover image. For multi-day or multi-venue events, add each occurrence as its own date.
  3. Set ticket tiers. Create your ticket tiers with prices, quantities and per-order limits. If your venue is seated, lay out reserved seating sections and rows.
  4. Publish. Pay the one-time flat listing fee through PayHere and your event goes live automatically — appearing in search, category and city pages. There's no subscription.
  5. Run check-in and get paid. On the day, use the gate scanner to check tickets in (add gate staff to scan in parallel). After the event, you're settled for your sales through organiser payouts.
