Things to do in Arugam Bay

Arugam Bay runs on the opposite calendar to the south coast: the season here is roughly May to September, when the surf works and the town fills. That's when the beach parties, jungle parties and live music nights run — several a week at the peak, spread between the beachfront bars and the venues set back off the main road. Surf competitions bring their own crowds and side events.

Almost nothing here is formally ticketed. Most nights charge at the door or are free, and the bigger recurring parties sell passes through the promoter's WhatsApp or a link rather than any ticketing platform. Outside the season the town largely closes, so a listing without a date confirmed in season is worth checking directly with the organiser.
