Gypsies Meets Avatar
Two long-running Sri Lankan bands, Gypsies and Avatar, share one stage at the Navy's Wave n' Lake banquet hall in Welisara on 21 August. Gold and Platinum seats from LKR 5,000; the Reserved block has sold out.
Two of the most durable names in Sri Lankan live music meet on a single stage in Welisara for an evening of baila, pop and rock that several generations of local audiences already know by heart.
Gypsies take the headline slot, with Avatar joining them for a double-bill built on full-band playing rather than backing tracks. The banquet-hall setting is seated, so expect a long run of familiar singalong material, plenty of crowd participation and table-style seating for groups who book together.
