Kaha Kona — A Novel In Concert

A novel turned into a live set. This open-air show in the BMICH garden takes Gihan Mendis's Sinhala novel "8:45" as its running order, threading passages of the story between acoustic performances so the narrative and the songs move forward together. Love, distance and hope carry through both halves of the evening.

Six singers share the music: Sashika Nisansala, Suneera Sumanga, Anjalee Herath, Krishan Karunaratna, Mahesha Sandamali and Supun Perera, with Mendis himself behind the production. Because it is staged outdoors over five hours, it sits closer to a garden concert than a theatre recital.
