Marians Unplugged 20th Anniversary
Marians bring their stripped-back Unplugged show south to Matara for a 20th anniversary date, playing the seated Rabindranath Tagore Memorial Auditorium at the University of Ruhuna.
Marians are among the longest-serving bands in Sri Lankan pop, and their acoustic Unplugged format has now been running long enough to mark twenty years of its own. Taking the electric arrangements apart leaves the songs closer to the bone, which is why the band tend to play this version in seated halls rather than stadiums or open grounds.
This date brings the anniversary programme to Matara, at the Rabindranath Tagore Memorial Auditorium on the University of Ruhuna campus. It is a listening room, fully seated and reserved throughout, and it gives audiences in the south a chance at the show without travelling to Colombo.
