An Oak Tree
Tim Crouch performs An Oak Tree at the Lionel Wendt in Colombo on 16 and 17 September 2026, joined each night by a guest actor who has not read the script, Tehani Chitty on the 16th and Dino Corera on the 17th.
One of the two performers on stage has never read the script. That is the rule Tim Crouch wrote into An Oak Tree, and it holds for both Colombo dates at the Lionel Wendt, 16 and 17 September 2026, each at 7pm: the guest actor works the part out in front of the audience, discovering the play as it runs. Tehani Chitty takes that role on the 16th and Dino Corera on the 17th, with Crouch performing opposite them. Grief, the ties between people and the reach of imagination are what the play turns on. The British Council supports the Sri Lankan performances through its Connections Through Culture grant.
