Nightlife events in Unawatuna

Unawatuna's nights are a beach strip in season — roughly December to April — rather than a club scene. Restaurants along the sand clear tables after dinner, bars put speakers out, and the evening drifts from one end of the bay to the other; there are usually two or three places with music on any given night and one bigger party at weekends. Entry is at the door or free, and the larger New Year and April-holiday events sell passes through the venue directly. Galle Fort ten minutes away is the alternative if you want a bar with a roof. Out of season much of the strip closes.
