Thunak Drama Fest is a single-afternoon showcase by the 2026 batch of the Somalatha Subasinghe Playhouse, staged at Colombo's Elphinstone Theatre. The Playhouse — formally the Lanka Children's and Youth Theatre Foundation, running since 1981 — is the training ground behind a long line of Sri Lankan stage actors, and its yearly batch festival is where each new cohort steps in front of a ticket-buying audience for the first time. The bill is short student-devised drama rather than one full-length play.
