Waren Heen Sare
The Sunil Santha Samajaya presents Waren Heen Sare, a concert of Sunil Santha's songs performed at the Lionel Wendt in Colombo on Saturday 12 September from 6.30pm, with tickets from Rs 1,000 to Rs 8,000.
Sunil Santha shaped the sound of modern Sinhala song in the mid-twentieth century, working in an idiom deliberately rooted in local melody and language rather than borrowed film-music formulas. This concert, put together by the Sunil Santha Samajaya, hands that catalogue to a group of present-day vocalists for a single evening at the Lionel Wendt.
It runs from 6.30pm to 9pm on Saturday 12 September at the Wendt's theatre in Colombo 7. Seating is banded:
- Balcony, free seating: Rs 1,000
- Bronze: Rs 2,000
- Silver: Rs 3,000
- Gold: Rs 5,000
- Platinum: Rs 8,000
